Good afternoon! Welcome to the Student Media Poll Newsletter for Jan. 13, 2022. The Georgia Bulldogs are National Champions for the first time in 41 years, defeating then-No. 1 Alabama 33-18 in Indianapolis. The Dawgs are back on top in the final SMP football poll of the season.
THIS WEEK’S POLLS:
🏈 The final poll of the SMP’s inaugural season sees Georgia take the No. 1 spot after winning the College Football Playoff National Championship. 20 teams moved multiple spots in the final set of rankings following a thrilling Bowl Season.
⛹️♂️🏀 The top five of the men’s basketball poll experienced a major shakeup this week. Three teams, Gonzaga, Auburn and USC, entered the top five, while three more, Duke, Purdue and Kansas, dropped.
⛹️♀️🏀 Another women’s basketball poll, another week at No. 1 for South Carolina. The Gamecocks are unanimous again this week after Louisville received a vote last week.

THIS WEEK AT THE SMP:
-We completed our inaugural college football season this week! Founder and Director Patrick Felts and Assistant Director for Media Operations Colin Wright wrote a letter recapping the highlights of our first-ever football season.
